Showing the horses at local, Trillium or "A" Level shows can be fun and rewarding. But be prepared, there is work to be done and money involved.
Below you will find a list of shows we may attend, the responsibilities of the rider and some of the costs involved.
Shows:
• Niagara Challenge Series
• Springcreek Schooling Shows
• Cedar Ridge Jumper Shows
• Port Colborne Saddle Club Shows
• Dunnville Saddle Club Shows
• Black's Equine Centre Schooling Shows
• Twinholme Schooling Shows
• Trillium Hunter/Jumper Shows
• "A" Level Hunter/Jumper Shows
We may attend all or some of these shows depending on student accomplishments.
Responsibilities of Rider:
Day prior to show:
•
bath and braid (if required) the horse or pony
• clean all tack you are using at the show
• assemble and load all tack into trailer
• wash and clean the saddle pad using
Day of show:
• arrive at Saturn Stables early enough to groom, fix braids, etc and load horse or pony in trailer
• double check tack and grooming supplies
• ensure you have your show gear, helmet, crop, spurs, etc.
• be at the farm to unload the horse or pony after the show
• be available to remove braids and settle horse or pony for the night
Fees:
• OEF Membership: $40.00 Junior/year
$50.00 adult/year

Show entry fees: (varies by show)
• Coaching fee: $50.00/day per student
• Use of horse fee: $30.00/day per horse
• Trailering to Show: within 1/2 hour of farm $45.00/horse, within 1 hour: $75.00 /horse, within 2 hours: $135.00/horse. (If more than one person is riding the same horse, this fee can be split between riders)

Braiding fees: If you cannot braid the horse/pony you will be riding braiding is $30.00/mane/forlock and $15.00/tail.
Other Possible Requirements:

If showing at Trillium or "A" Level you will also require an Ontario Hunter Jumper Association Membership $30.00/year
